What can i build on small building plots?

Hello,

i have a lvl 3 island and i find it very limiting,i cant create any uselfull thing on the small building plots.By usefull i mean,usefull to me.I want to make bows and leather armor,but i need a kitchen and crops to produce food for my crafting buildings.I have 2 small plots which are completely useless for me,but if i were a warrior i could make a furnace for 1 small building plot.2 small building plots which are completely useless for me-_-,game designs...why not make usefull buildings for small plots?Why can only the warrior have this inmmense advantage?Im a solo player,i want to be left alone,but i dont want to be forced to be a warrior,

please if anyone has any information about it please help me out, i did a lot of research about it on internet but couldn't find the proper answer so please help me out ?
